ESC-training in Sofia

Zoe and I got invited to join the ESC training in Sofia, which was organized by the national agency of Bulgaria. We stayed 4 nights in a 4-star hotel in the center of Sofia. Coming from our basic natural lifestyle, this was a small cultural shock for me.

In total, there were 3 groups of about 15 people which met every day in their own rooms. We worked from morning to evening interrupted by smaller and bigger breaks. The tasks were mainly presentation, self-reflection and learning tasks. We, for example hold a presentation about Trinoga and our volunteering experience at Vegetarium. Also, we presented a common herb in Bulgaria because it was the national holiday of herbal plants. During one session, we talked about constructive feedback and good communication. Many activities were teamwork related.

It was very inspiring to see, what other volunteers do during in their projects. Also, it was new to me that there are many short-time volunteering projects all over Europa.

I am very thankful for this precious time and that I met so many lovely people. I hope I will stay in contact with some and maybe visit them at their volunteering projects.
