Gushkoo
It was a normal, calm day. Philip and Barbara had gone to Sofia for work, and we were left alone, without having any idea of what was waiting for us.
In the evening, while I was talking on the phone, I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and saw May with Gushko — one of the kittens at the Vegetarium. As soon as we saw him, we knew something was wrong. There was blood on his little head, a deep wound. We were very scared and immediately started wondering what to do, but the only thing we could do at that moment was to press the wound with a cloth soaked in warm water.
The next morning we got up early and took him to a veterinarian in Svoge. We left one of the volunteers to take care of the place and set off. We almost missed the train, but we managed to catch it. When we arrived, we had about an hour before the clinic opened, so we sat at a small café to kill some time.
When the clinic opened, we went in right away. The people there were very kind — they asked us about the Vegetarium and took care of Gushko. They stitched his wound and returned him to us about two hours later. During that time, May (the volunteer I went with) and I were at a restaurant, we had a nice time sharing stories and chilling in a warm place.
After that, we took the train back and walked uphill from Tserovo. It was a bit difficult carrying Gushko in his crate, so we stopped along the way and took turns carrying him. In the end, everything turned out well — Gushko is fine and happy now. But it was quite an adventure.
