A long weekend at the “wake-up!” festival

Last Thursday I drove to a village called Kuklen, near Plovdiv together with Filip. Before, we were gathering food and drinks for the next three days. Arrived in Kuklen, we found a giant fig-tree on a sideroad. We picked up many figs and ate a lot directly.

Kuklen is in the plains of the Rhodopes and in the near mountains one can have an amazing view over the Upper Thracian Plain and the city of Plovdiv.

The festival, called “wake-up!” is in the forest near Kuklen.

When we arrived, we would set up our tents and placed our luggage in them.

There were about 300 visitors on the festival with over 100 workshops and music on two stages. Unfortunately, almost all workshops were held in Bulgarian language, and I could not figure out which one is in English.

I helped Filip with the preparation of his workshops on Saturday and Sunday. Also, I helped selling our famous healing cream and some Magnesium supplements products.

Fortunately, I met a guy I knew from the training in Sofia on the first night. He had a shop with his association, and I spent a lot of time with him and his fellows.

It was very interesting how children and family-friendly this festival was, and the easy atmosphere was also very inspiring. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to join this event in the foothills of the Rhodopes.
