Animal Care

When I came back from my break in France, I found our cat, Lubjo, injured. He apparently had an abscess on his right jaw for about a week already. I didn’t realize it was an abscess at first, so I was really worried.

Since taking care of the animals is part of my daily tasks (and something I really enjoy), I took the matter into my own hands. I quickly took some pictures so Filip could send them to the vet. However, before we even had time to receive a reply, Lubjo’s abscess had already burst.

One morning, I discovered his jaw covered in blood (maybe he thought he hadn’t scared me enough 😉 ). Fortunately, it was actually a very positive sign because it meant the abscess could start healing. The wound was clean, so all I had to do was clean it properly, cut the fur around it to prevent any hairs from getting into the wound, and disinfect it. Surprisingly, this was quite easy because Lubjo didn’t seem to be in any pain and just wanted to be petted. I repeated the process for a couple of days, and today the wound is almost completely gone !
