Yoghurt

Every Wednesday we get fresh milk from one of our neighbors. Usually, we make yogurt out of it. In this topic, I’m going to describe how.

1. We have to boil the milk. We are boiling it till the foam starts to rise.
2. We put the hot milk into jars.
3. After the temperature drops, we can add the old yogurt to each jar. (we should make sure, that the milk is warm enough. To measure it, put your finger into it for 10 seconds, and if you can hold it there for this period, it means the old yogurt should be added)

Why do we add the old yogurt?
Because of the bacteria. The bacteria works like probiotics and makes the sugar in the yogurt into lactic acid. With this method, we can always create more and more yogurt.

Yogurt is a good Calcium resource and helps to digest. It is also great for the immune system and it has many vitamins like B6/B12, Magnesium, and Kalium.
