Winter Camp
I had the opportunity to go to work one week in a winter drama camp with teenagers coming from ukraine. This camp was in Poland in a place called Krizhowa. It was a great experience as I have never worked as a drama teacher in a camp dedicated to it and the experience turned out to be amazing and really magical.
At the start of the camp I felt a little nerviousity as i have travelled multiple times with this organisation as a participant however this time my role was different and I wanted to proof the best side of me.
All disappeared the first day as my group of ten children turned out to be very good and all the practices were really easy to do and the organisation was also facilitated by very nice colleagues.
My favorite part of the experience was the organisation of the evening activities as in our team of teachers we invented amazing activities in the dramatic area. The most remarkable was the so-called Family Dinner game. Here all of the participants are given a role with a character that they have to follow and a secret objective to do without the rest of the players discovering it. This game was particularly fun for the participants and we all really enjoyed it.
Overall this experience was really good as I did expand my knowledge of being an adult in a cmp and it gave me a very important idea of the method used in this organisation which is totally different from the rest as it uses an individual approach of learning and emphasizes the communication and creation of bonds between the participants.
