From Summer Heat to Winter Storm: The Weather in Trinoga

The weather in Trinoga, at an altitude of about 2000 meters, has changed significantly since my arrival in the summer. When I first got here, temperatures were above 30°C, and the garden was lush and green, bursting with colors and vibrant growth. But then autumn came, bringing not only cooler temperatures but also a fascinating transformation in nature. The trees began changing their green foliage to warm browns and reds, while the rain increased—a significantly contrast to the hot, dry summer days. The rain was a welcome relief for the plants and the soil, which had suffered from the summer drought.

Now, as winter approaches, the cold is becoming more noticeable. The nights are getting chillier, and you need more clothing and an extra blanket to stay warm. In the evenings, after work, the fireplace is lit, and the house becomes cozy. At the same time, the days are getting shorter, and it’s getting dark earlier. We’ve already had snow twice—clear signs that winter is truly setting in.

It’s fascinating to observe the changing weather and the tasks that come with it, especially when it comes to working outdoors and with the animals. In the coming days, we are expecting storms with wind speeds of up to 120 km/h and about 20 cm of fresh snow. The weather here is not just a captivating natural phenomenon, but it also greatly influences daily life and work, making the experience of being in Trinoga truly special.
