First week at vegetarium

In my first week volunteering at Vegetarium ( Trinoga association ) I took the first few days to familiarize myself with the environment which is totally different from the urban life I am used to. I received a grat introduction and guide from the volunteers that arrived before me and I found myself quickly involved in the activities.

Firstly I started working at the construction site helping with the construction of an eco-friendly construction which will be destined for storage and a greenhouse with a little room inside. my main task was to peel the wood of the trunks that will hold the whole structure. I found out that doing it is quite tiring but very useful just to disconnect.

Another of the main learnings from this week was animal keeping. I learned how to manage the Chickens (feed with special designated compost) and the horses. It is really interesting to observe how all animals behave differently and how by watching you can understand them better. For example the brown chicken always likes exploring further than the other two.

Finally I saw how to use an old machine to make flour. We used it to fill a whole bag of flour so it can be used for future bread baking. I am really looking forward see the process of preparing bread.
