Exploring Bulgaria
After a few days in Istanbul, I returned to Bulgaria to spend the last days of my travels there. I was excited to continue my trip on the west coast, that’s why I headed to Varna.
We arrived in Varna very early in the morning and I still had to wait 5 hours until I could check in at my hostel. To not waste any time (because I only had this one day in Varna) I went to the beach immediately. Even though it was quite cloudy the view of the sunrays, breaking through the heavy clouds and softly touching the sea, was amazing. The peaceful atmosphere of an early morning when everything is still quiet is truly captivating.
The next day I took the train back towards the east but I still had one last stop on my trip: Veliko Tarnovo – a city, located in the northern Balkan Mountains.
The landscape there is beautiful, especially the Yantra river that’s winding through the gorge. What stood out most to me is the old town with it’s cute little houses and narrow cobblestone alleys.
After a scenic train ride with great views of the colourful, autumnal forest I returned to Vegetarium.
