How I got here and my first week at the Vegetarium
My travel to Vegetarium was my first real traveling alone to other country experience and I found it very teaching experience. First I needed to travel to Helsinki, the capital of my country, Finland. From Helsinki, I first flew to Riga and then to Sofia and I was almost late from my second flight because I was waiting at the wrong gate. From Sofia airport I needed to take two subways to get to the Sofia Central Railway Station. From there I took the train to the Svoge, where I was welcomed very warmly and I had a nice but in the end bumby car ride to Vegetarium.
The first thing I noticed in the Vegetarium was it’s warm and nature-loving atmosphere. Hosts, volunteers, neighbors and guests were all chatting and hanging out. From the start everyone were very helpful to me and showing me places and animals and how things were done in here. I was happy but very tired.
In the first week I get used to waking up this magical placed and started learning how everyday life in Vegetarium really was. Many everyday thing like laundry or cooking was done here a bit different than I was used to but everyone was very supportive and I started learning new skills such as making a fire or taking care of chickens.
