A Team Day in Sofia

 We recently had a team day in Sofia, which was a really nice opportunity to spend a whole day together outside of the project. It was an exciting and quite exhausting day, but I really enjoyed experiencing the city together with the team.

We started the day with breakfast at a really good café. One of our friends from Bulgaria had chosen the place for us, so we got to try some typical Bulgarian food. It was nice to have someone who knows the local culture recommend a place and introduce us to food we might not have discovered ourselves.

After breakfast, we spent some time sitting in a park, talking and playing cards. Later, we walked through the city and explored Sofia together. It was nice to have time for conversations that don’t necessarily happen during our normal workdays.

One of the most interesting parts of the day was our sharing circle in the park. We talked about our learning experiences at the Vegetarium and shared what we had learned from our time there. I really enjoy these kinds of conversations because you realise how much you can learn from other people. At the same time, I noticed that other people can also learn something from me and from my experiences.

This made me think about the influence we have on each other. I realised that I have an influence on the people around me, even when I don’t always notice it. That also means that I should think carefully about how I use this influence and what I pass on to others.

In the evening, we had dinner together before taking the train back home. By the time we arrived, I was definitely tired, but also very happy about the day.

It was great to do something as a team outside of our usual environment. Spending a whole day together, sharing experiences, laughing, talking, and learning from each other made me feel even more connected to the people I am sharing this experience with.
