Daily Tasks

To organise ourselves and the team, we have a whiteboard with all the daily tasks that need to be shared throughout the week. It includes tasks such as taking care of the animals, doing the laundry, keeping the different parts of the house clean, looking after the greenhouse and garden, and many more.

Every week, we change the whiteboard and distribute the tasks among us. This allows us to try everything, discover what suits us best, and see which tasks we enjoy the most. When a task is assigned to us, we are responsible for it for the whole week. This doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to do all the work ourselves, but we are responsible for making sure that everything related to this task gets done.

Now that I’ve been here for three months, I’ve had the chance to try pretty much everything, and my “favorite” tasks have changed quite a lot over time.

At first, I was introduced to the greenhouse and garden care, as well as collecting the horses’ manure. For quite a long time, I actually really enjoyed collecting the horses’ manure ! But I think I’ve done it a little too much now, because I don’t really enjoy it anymore.

Surprisingly, my favorite tasks now are the cleaning ones, such as taking care of the kitchen and cleaning the hall. Animal care is also among my favorites, but that one isn’t really surprising.

And I think the task I enjoy the least is watering. I’ve been trying to avoid it as much as I possibly could, aha.
